To Utilize Design Thinking to Reinvent a New Supermarket Concept
Dairy Farm Group approached Savant Degrees to help them utilize Design Thinking and Sprints to come up with a fresh concept for a store. Jason’s Deli, a supermarket brand, was taking over a new commercial space that was smaller than their existing stores. They wanted to use this opportunity to design a “store of the future” that excites their specific demographic of customers within the Central Business District. This new concept would be used as a blueprint for future smaller stores.
A New Shopping Experience
Savant Degrees implemented their Design Thinking methodology and delivered the project scope in 6 Sprints. Each sprint focussed on its own set of specific activities and deliverables, from stakeholder interviews, research, observation studies, workshops, to the design of a new store layout, brand, and prototyping of store concepts. After the first store opened in Marina Bay Link Mall, two more followed within 12 months – in Marina Bay Sands, and Ion Orchard – proving the effectiveness of the concept in offering landlords a new, relevant shopping experience to fit into their retail offerings.
